Avro Lancaster Mk.10MP
David Hardingham. 1/72 Revell Lancaster Mk.1 converted to Mk.10MP. Built by Victory Aircraft in Canada, late 1944. It did not see active service in WWII. In November 1945 it was converted to a MK.10SR (Search and Rescue), in 1951 it was converted to a Mk.10MR Anti-submarine patrol. In 1957 it was configured to the Search and Rescue role and in 1959 converted to Mk.10MP – Maritime Patrol. In 1964 it was retired and put on Guard duty. In 1990 a new home was urgently required due to weathering and souvenir hunters taking their toll. Toronto Aerospace Museum took the aircraft to Toronto for a display only restoration. Unable to carry out the work it was taken on by the British Columbia aerospace museum in 2018, in pieces.
